My story
Thanks to God, I joined the PROMESA Foundation in 2011, when my mother enrolled me, as it was just beginning as a CDI. I was 9 years old then and knew little about God. I could not have imagined the great impact this opportunity would have on my life.
From the time I joined the Foundation, I received many benefits that greatly helped my family and me. One of the most important was my spiritual growth. As a child, I took part in the different lessons and teachings shared with us. As I grew up, I also learned more about God, His love and His purpose for my life. Because of all this, I can joyfully say today that I belong to a spiritual family that has profoundly shaped my life.
When I was a child, the supplies and food we received through the CDI helped my family a great deal, especially because we had limited financial resources at the time. Every bit of support was a blessing and a sign of God’s love for us.
I also had access to medical check-ups, which were very important to me because there was no health centre near our home. This care helped me look after my health and better understand the condition of my body.
As I grew older, the Foundation also gave me an opportunity to take vocational training. I chose hairdressing for women and men, and through this opportunity I completed my training, earned my certificate and graduated. This experience taught me that I could develop my skills and use my abilities to build a better future.
Another area that deeply influenced my life was music, especially singing. Through the training I received, I developed this talent and later had the opportunity to join the worship ministry as a backing singer. By God’s grace, I continue serving in this ministry to this day, which is a great blessing to me.
Throughout these years, PROMESA has been an important part of my growth and development. What began when I was only 9 became an experience that transformed my life in ways I never imagined. Today, at 23, I am happy to be part not only of the church but also of the Foundation, as an educator in the youth programme. I also have the privilege of serving as a leader in the Sunday ministry with children aged 6 to 8.
Looking back, I recognise that God used every lesson, opportunity, person and act of support to shape the woman I am today. I am deeply grateful because PROMESA not only contributed to my personal growth, but also helped me grow spiritually, discover my abilities, develop my talents and learn to serve God and others.
To me, PROMESA means growth, development and potential. It means an opportunity to discover that every child and young person has a purpose, talents and abilities that can develop when they receive love, support, education and opportunities.
I thank God for allowing me to be part of this family since childhood and for giving me the opportunity now to serve and lovingly give back some of what I once received. Today I can say that PROMESA was far more than support for my family: it was a seed God planted in my life that, over the years, bore fruit I could never have imagined.
